Terms of Service & Service Policies

Last updated:

These Terms of Service and Service Policies ("Terms") describe the general conditions under which Profix Appliances ("we", "us", or "our") provides appliance repair services to you ("you" or "customer").

Service area

We primarily serve homeowners and property owners in Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island, New York. Service to locations outside our standard area may be limited or subject to additional fees.

Estimates and pricing

We aim to provide clear estimates before beginning work. Final pricing may vary based on actual diagnosis, parts required, and on-site conditions discovered during the visit. All prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

Trip and diagnostic fees

A trip or diagnostic fee may be charged to cover technician travel, time, and troubleshooting. When possible, this fee is applied toward the cost of approved repairs performed during the same visit. If you decline the recommended repair after diagnosis, the diagnostic fee may still be due.

Parts, warranty, and workmanship

Parts may be sourced from manufacturer or authorized suppliers. Any warranty on parts is subject to the terms of the supplier or manufacturer. We may provide a limited warranty on our labor for a defined period, which will be communicated at the time of service. Warranty coverage does not apply to misuse, neglect, or issues unrelated to the original repair.

Safety and access

We reserve the right to refuse or reschedule service if conditions are unsafe, unsanitary, or if we cannot reasonably access the appliance. You are responsible for ensuring safe and clear access to the appliance before the technician arrives.

Cancellations and rescheduling

We ask that you notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Same-day cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee to compensate for reserved time and travel.

Limitations of service

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, manufacturer defects, or failures unrelated to the work performed. Some issues may require multiple visits, additional parts, or may ultimately be deemed beyond economical repair. In such cases, we will discuss options with you before proceeding.

Customer responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the appliance and the issue you are experiencing.
  • Ensure that an adult (18+) is present during the service visit.
  • Make payment in accordance with the terms communicated at the time of service.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of food, time, or use of the appliance.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
